Draw Poker Odds

Poker is a card game and like every card game it has its uncertainties. Odds and strategies play an equally important role as in any other poker game . The game of draw poker odds is mainly for homes and is seldom found at casinos . But this is the most basic version of poker games that are commonly played at gambling houses .
The game of draw poker odd is played with five cards per player and the cards are dealt by the dealer ,face down . That means that only the player can he his /her set of cards and nobody else .

During the entire game the cards are played facing down and are never shown to the other players .
The dealer is chosen from amongst one of the players . The dealer deals the cards one by one to each player, face down.

The player who sits to the immediate left of the dealer starts the game . Now its important that we know what cards signify what . Rather what is the combination that can get you into a winning position .
A royal flush , which is the highest card set , consists of an ace, a king , a queen , a jack , a ten and a nine . All these cards must be of the same suit .

After this there is a straight flush where the card denominations don’t matter but they must be of the same suit .
The next most important series in this order is a set of four cards of the same value , that is a set of 4 jacks etc.

The next most important series or arrangement is three of a kind and a pair . It is called a “Full House”.
Then the next most important series is the flush . In this any five cards of the same suit is taken into account .

If you have any five consecutive cards irrespective of the suit then it is called a “straight” .
If you have three cards of the same value then it is called “three of a kind”
Then if you have two pairs of cards then its called two pairs
If you have just 2 cards of the same value then its called a pair
If you have none of the above combinations it is called a no pair .
The odds associated with the game is therefore quite interesting .

Its very difficult to get a royal flush since it’s a rare occurrence and if you have that sort of hand then you may consider yourself born lucky .
The next most uncommon occurance is the straight flush .
Mathematics reveals that as the cards get more dispersed in orientation the easier it is to get them .
For example the chances of getting a no pair or a pair is more when compared to the others .
Coming to numerals :
Lets take the example of a three of a kind odd …Royal flush and others are just too high expectations on the part of the player , so a more likely probability is taken .
Before a draw
There are 52 cards in a card deck .
The odds for is 1 out of 47 .

Similarly the odds against is 46 out of 1.
The odds after the draw is
For :1 in 8.7
Odds against is 7.7 to 1
So when a dealer deals and you pick up your cards the probability of getting a “three of a kind” is reasonably good its about 2% .
Apart from that the lower importance cards have a higher probability while the ones with a higher importance have a lower probability.

So its important to know these basic things before sitting at the table . If you at all sit at the table even at home these stats will surely help you since its no use playing with no beforehand knowledge of the game .

Poker is a game where it is important to know your cards more than anything else . Strategies and knowing about the odds adds a hint of spice to the game since you know your chances of winning the game .
