Poker is a very popular game and is played throughout the world. At first, ‘Poker’ was known by the name of ‘Bluff’. Poker is a national vying game of United States of America and is of French-American origin.

It carries five cards based on betting on who has the best hand. In this game, players bet on who will hold the combination of best cards by continuously raising the bets.

POKER PLAYERS

A list of poker players has been ranked in order of their seniority and their impact on the game. These are listed below:

T. J. Cloutier
He is one of the most popular and respectable poker players in this field. He wrote a book on Poker and named it as ‘Championship No-Limit and Pot-Limit Holdem’. The book was appreciated the world over. He is also recognized as a leader in money making at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the year 2001. There is no doubt he is the number one no-limit poker players in the world. He has won two gold bracelets at the 1994 WSOP, one for pot-limit holdem and the other for Omaha high-low.

Phil Hellmuth
He is recognized as a well-known personality in the poker community. He has won 6 WSOP Bracelets, including the 1989 WSOP No Limit Holdem Main event. He inherits the skill, talent, and dedication. He is able to make difficult decisions in the poker world.

Johnny Chan
He is well recognized in the international scenario. He has won at the WSOP main event victory in the year 1987. Right from 1988, Clan has been gaining momentum in this tournament.

Miami John Cernuto
He won his first big pot and the seven-card-stud title in Super bowl of Poker in 1988. He is very good at his skills and so continues to rise in the tournament. He won the Heads Up Poker Tournament in Vienna in 2003, won $23,000 in event #17 at the Legends of Poker, and placed fourth in the Limit 7-Card Stud Championship in the United States Poker Championship at Trump Taj Mahal.

Thuan “Scotty” Nguyen
Scotty is also known by the name of “Prince”. He won the WSOP championship title in 1998. He is recognized as one of the highest paid players in the world.

Doyle Brunson
Also known as “Texas Dolly”, Doyle has won 8 WSOP. He is also well recognized into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Stu Ungar
Though Stu Ungar is no more today, but he is still remembered and talked between all of us. Many contemporaries still consider him the greatest No Limit Holdem player all over the world. He has won three WSOP championship titles. His then 16-year old daughter in the Las Vegas Review Journal and ProfessionalGambler.com has beautifully described his last days.

Eric Seidel
He is amongst the well-known names in the poker world. He came second to Johnny Chan in the WSOP championship event held in 1988.

Johnny Moss
Johnny Moss is also popular by the name of “Grand Old Man” of poker. He won the World Series of World Championship thrice.

Amarillo Slim' Preston
He is the Ambassador of Poker game. He is also popular for narrating Tall Tales. He has attached several bracelets in WSOP events to his credit.

Susie Isaacs
She is an American poker player and is based in Las Vegas since 1986. She has won six WSOP women’s events and won the women’s championship back-to-back in 1996 and 1997. Her tournament winnings exceed $180,000.

Chip Lett
He is an American poker player and is based in Las Vegas. Apart from being a professional poker player, he also writes articles for Card Player magazine.


Thomas Keller
He is an American poker player and is based in Las Vegas and Arizona. He won the $281,525 first prize in the $2,500 no limit Holdem event of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, defeating Allen Cunningham in the final heads-up confrontation.

Jesse May
He is an American poker commentator and player.

Daniel Negreanu
He started playing Poker in 1997 when he won two events at the World Poker Finals at Fox woods. He is the youngest WSOP bracelet winner and has won two World Series bracelets. He was named “Favorite Poker Player” at the Card Player, Player of the Year Awards Gala in February 2006.

Padraig Parkinson
He is a professional poker player based in Ireland. He is recognized as the grand final winner of Late Night Poker Series 5. His tournament winnings exceed $800,000.
