What
is Royal Poker?
Royal poker is one of the
first poker tournaments ever organized by the WPPA
(World Poker Players Association) where there is a seat for
top poker players and armatures alike.
Royal poker is a series
that is being broadcast on television, which focuses on various
version of poker like the No Limit Texas Holdem, No limit Holdem
etc.
This tournament is based on the finals of the WPPA and is hosted
by some of the famous commentators such as Williamson III.
This series of the Royal Poker is done in a tournament style
format where in players without chips were eliminated in the
very beginning itself. Initially there were three tables of
three players each and at the end they were lowered to ten players
at the main table.
The most famous Game Show Network¨ presented the Royal Poker
most of the time. The format which has been setup by the GSN
is a must see for all the poker players.
How
to Play Royal Poker
There is only one game play area on the poker card.
On removing the latex covering of the play area the player gets
access to 30 your cards.
With regard to all the cards in the hands play area the player
has to scratch one by one area in the your card zone.
Only
on scratching all the cards in the Your Hands play area, which
matches with the all the cards in the same hand then the player
wins the game is entitled to encase the prize money from the
company.
This is a different kind of poker to be played by any kind of
player.
Game
Show Network and Royal Poker
Game Show Network, which was initially started in late 90, which
had a similar game show like the Royal
poker, it was titled The Match Game. Even now the older
game shows cane be seen on this channel which has been moved
to the daytime, where in the newer game shows have been telecasted
on the prime time titled Who Wants To Be A Millionaire¨.
Game Show Network not only telecasts these famous poker games
but in order to have a broader audience base do telecast other
games too like the Extreme Dodge ball and the world series of
Blackjack, Celebrity Blackjack.
Before the launch of Royal Poker in Dec 2004 it had some television
channels broadcasting non-traditional games also.
The first ever show broadcasted by GSN on Television included
six episodes made up of a complete set of professional players
focusing more on WPPA players. It was hosted by some of the
most famous commentators like Mr. Nealon and Robert Williamson
III.
The GSN does a good job during the play of the Royal
poker, as there is a status of the pot, which is given
frequently, which was tough to guess as to how much was there
in the pot.
Royal Poker and Celebrities
The second comeback of the Royal Poker was done with a bang
with the launch of the new television programs, which hosted
all the new professional poker players. It was played against
one another among the 12 top professional poker players. Among
these top-notch players women were also included who were playing
No Limit Holdem.
The next episode of Royal Poker included all the major celebrities
be it Lance Bass, Mini Rogers, and Patrick Warburton. They played
against all the pro poker players like the Cindy Violette, Paul
Darden, and Kenna James.
Ian Valentine the then Senior Vice President Programming was
of the belief that the comeback of the Royal Poker is definitely
a better version of any other kind of poker game on television.
As it was being played between the celebrities and the most
said pro poker players it was bound to give unpredictable action
and joy.
When the original version of the Royal Poker was changed it
was believed to be all for better and solid as it also included
poker tips, the updating part of the pot, most likely winners
of the pot.
Royal
Poker:-Battle of Sexes This was another format of Royal
poker as it was played between two different sexes
the males and the females. Here the players were awarded points
for their teams depending on their finishing. And the highest
team score won the tournament.
Royal Poker:-Young Bloods In this kind of tournament all the
players were below 30 years of age and instead of the regular
point¡¦s basis, cash prizes were given based on
the finishing. The winners received a whooping $20,000, $10,
000 and $ 5,000 respectively for the first prize, second prize
and the third prize respectively.
Royal Poker: - Comedians Vs Poker Pro This series was more or
less like that of a celebrity Vs Poker pro because the only
difference between that and this is that here.
Here instead of celebrities it was a show of the comedians opposite
the poker pro players
Among them were the most famous comedians the industry ever
produced like the Robert Wuhl, Tammy, and Carol Leifer.
