Before starting the game, several bets are placed that usually vary from person to person. In certain situations antes are placed. One can also follow the method of posting the blinds. That is before the game starts, two people standing on the left of the card dealer take the first initiative. They have to first stake a prefixed amount of money. Then the rest will be following.

1. Once the bets are placed, the dealer starts to shuffle the deck of cards.
2. After the cards are properly shuffled the card dealer places two cards called the pocket and hole cards in front of the players with their face down.
3. After the cards are distributed the round of betting starts. Except the ones who have already placed their stakes before the game of Texas Holdem started.
4. The kind of betting structure followed by the players depends on the kind of game they are playing and the kind of stakes they are willing to take.

The players have the option to go for check, raise or fold, if they find the need to.
Once the round of betting is done and everyone has placed their stakes, the card dealer will discard the topmost card of the deck called the burn card in order to avoid cheating.

This is again followed by another round of betting.
Once the betting is over the card dealer again removes the topmost card .
Moreover the card dealer places another card on the table that , this card can be used by the players if they need to.
Again this round is followed by a round of betting. Most of the time during this stage the stakes are doubled.
Again another round of burn card is followed .
The last card is placed by the card dealer on the table for the players to use
Then its time to showdown.

All those still remaining in the game show their cards. The person with the best card wins and wins all the stakes
